Nice place to meet up for a casual drink. Actually this might be the only local place to get a drink without feeling too rural. Food is nothing special but I do have a soft spot for the fried pickles.

Not sure if the name changed but this place is now the Irish Setter Pub. It's the classic Irish-American pub style but for PI, it was the best best food I had. It's a cute time capsule of locals and the decor seems inspired by their police force and those giant red dogs. They have the full range of Irish, Tex-Mex (seems that nachos, taco salad, etc are a staple of Irish pubs), and American food. There isn't a ton of selection but they have a good range of burgers, sandwiches, wraps, entrees, and apps. I had the nachos twice and they were the good kind with real cheese, olives, tomatoes, jalepenos, etc. They also come in full and half sizes in case you want something else. Also the fried pickles are phenomenal!! Prices are reasonable and beer is cheap for those over 21!

Good food, good prices, nice relaxed atmosphere. Good with just a couple or for a group. Friendly wait staff. I like the specials posted on the road sign, they always entice me to come try it out!

I've been here once and ordered Fried Haddock. I didn't like the batter they used, but it was decent still. I don't think people go here very much because it's always too busy.

So I am up in Presque Isle again for work and decided to give the Irish Setter another chance. Very disappointed overall. When I sat down on the patio I waited over 10 minutes before I finally said something to another waitress to see who was my watress/waiter. I ordered one of their signature burgers and their appetizer combo. App combo came out hot and somewhat quick. The only thing that could of been improved with it is the size of the chicken wings. They must have came from the smallest chicken in the world. When the burger came out it was well done when I ordered med rare. The waiter took forever to come check on me after he dropped of the burger. My drink sat empty for over 10 minutes as well. The second time the burger came out it was very rare. I just didn't want to send another one back and ate it. The burger patties are very thin so cooking them to the proper temp. Also waited over 10 minutes again with an empty glass. Probably will not come back again unless it's just for drinks sitting at the bar.

The Irish Setter is a nice relaxing place to grab dinner in Presque Isle. They have a friendly staff and a fairly large menu. The food is solid and the portion sizes are generous. For St. Patrick's Day, there is no better option in the area.

Setting back Irish cooking 50 years (My irish grandmother thinks water is a spice) I ordered the bangers and mash. The bangers were boiled in Guinness and served with sausage gravy-not brown gravy. The bangers were not browned, just boiled. Huh? Nice and efficient bartender.

Love this place! Food and atmosphere always just what I'm in the mood for! I always get the nachos...this plave has the only decent nacho dish in The County!

This is a homey pub atmosphere. Food is great. The beer battered fries are amazing. Great service and delicious food with ample proportions.

The Irish Setter Pub has a nicer bar atmosphere that I wasn't expecting from a restaurant in Northern Maine. The place is relaxed and friendly. Service was good and our waiter was very cheerful. Beer list was decent and offered a few good local craft brews. The food was above average for pub fare. We started with beer battered fried pickles which may sound gross but they are delicious and a bit spicy. I had the special which was baked stuffed haddock which was excellent although a little salty. My boyfriend had a classic Irish Ruben and he loved it despite the fact that he's not a huge corned beef fan. Oh, and the Guiness cheesecake is amazing. I'd go back just for that. All that said....it's a good spot and I plan on going back even if just for drinks.
